Vibrant Mornings

For those of you who have followed me for the last 10 plus years on social media, you might remember that I used to help people live healthier lives. My mission statement was Be a Size You. Inside and out. Mentally and emotionally. Fitness and health saved my life during one of the lowest moments of my life after my son was born. Quite frankly, it is something I am still extremely passionate about.
After the pandemic, society made choices. Gyms were closed. People didn’t even leave their homes for fear of getting sick. Honestly, in my opinion, I believe the whole thing made people sicker…..whether or not they caught Covid. But that is a discussion for a whole other day.
I will step off my soapbox for now.
Over the last few years, I have gotten out of the habit of having a morning routine. For six years, I did the following:
-Wake up around 4:30-5:00AM
-Read my devotion and a few pages from a self development book.
-Workout (I mostly worked out at home)
-Got kids ready for school
-Came home, got ready for the day, worked while the kids were in school (I was a Beachbody Coach for 6 years…loved being able to work while they were in school!)
Then did whatever else was required of me that day! At the time, I was a stay at home wife, mom, ministry leader and I had several responsibilities, as most wives and moms do. When I had my business, I used to tell busy moms to find a way and to stop making excuses for their health. They mattered and they should make The time for themselves.
I still believe that to be true, although……
Fast forward to me now, a single mom working full time and still has a lot of responsibilities on her plate, I am eating a bit of crow now that I realize just how challenging it is with my schedule. It is what it is. So my advice is seasoned with a bit more kindness and grace and understanding. I am right there with you, girl.
This is hard.
But it isn’t impossible.
I just have decided that I want to be healthy and vibrant and alive for myself, for this forty year old body, and for my people.
I matter.

So why shouldn’t I start implementing a routine that allows me for to have vibrant mornings, that then allow me to have more energy in my day for all of the other things And people I care about?
I do this for myself, because I love feeling good.
I also do this for my partner. My kids. For a job I love but can be emotionally draining.
So I have been very slowly getting back into the habit of waking up earlier. Not convenient and not always fun. I move my body. Say out loud a few affirmations. Read scripture.
Lo and behold, the day looks so much different than if I were to hit Snooze and be comfortable.
Staying comfortable never really provided for incredible life change.
This isn’t perfect. I can still throw down a whole bag of Kettle brand Jalapeño chips. There are some mornings I would rather sleep in. But I want change so here we go. We are doing what isn’t always comfortable.
What are some of your morning routines? Even if you don’t workout, what helps you to set your day on the right foot? How do you radiate a vibrant and healthy life inside and out?
