Live for the Small Moments

When you start living for the small moments, you will see the bigger picture.

Start living for that moment of seeing the ray of sunshine peeking through your window as you wake up each morning.

Waking up next to the person you love.

That first cup of coffee or tea you pour for yourself.

Those big hugs from your teenagers that remind you just how important you are to them.

Being able to hit pause on the routine a bit and write.

It is date night with the man of your dreams.

Sunsets. Sunrises.

Sharing the latest news with your best girlfriends over margs and chips and salsa.

Staring at your ring finger, lovingly gazing that the symbol and daily reminder of hope and promise and love placed on that finger by the man you adore.

Movie nights With the kids.

There are plenty of big moments to celebrate throughout our lives. I don’t want to lose sight of the small ones. The small moments that make living real and beautiful and tangible. They are the every day moments. They are the ones often taken for granted. They are the ones that get missed because we keep seeking and hoping for big, when the everyday is incredibly beautiful and right in front of our noses.

When we choose to notice the small moments, our vision becomes that much more clear.

What we want out of our lives is more vivid than ever before. We begin to recognize what matters most to us.

And what matters most to us is not fame. Massive bank accounts. Trips around the globe and an endless amount of influence. I will tell you that it is okay to want to travel the world and make more money than you do now and yes, maybe desire more influence and notoriety in your career.

But at the end of it all, it won’t matter nearly as much as those moments of rocking Your babies to sleep. Blowing out birthday candles with those you love. Laughing hysterically at a stupid joke. Long Beach days and sunburns. Worshiping Jesus together as a family at church.

What you really want will become more evident as we take notice of those small, miraculous, special and beautiful moments.

Don’t miss them.

With love,

Tiffany Rhea
